OccupyHawaii.com, an anti-capitalists web site linking itself with the Occupy Wall Street movement now entering its third week in New York City, has this to say about its reason for wanting to protest the wealthy in Hawaii:

“We are the 99%! Occupy Hawaii is a local resistance protesting the 1% that own 50% of everything. We will not be intimidated and silent anymore with our civil resistance and street protests. We will no longer tolerate the greed and corruption of the 1%. We represent people of many colors, genders and political persuasions. We have lost our jobs, houses, future, everything…while the fat cats on Wall Street get richer and drink their champagne.”

“WE ARE MADDER THAN HELL AND WE’RE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE!”

Ironically, on the Hawaii web site, the protesters are accepting a number of ads from capitalists organizations, such as Ford, Solar Energy Hawaii, Aston Resorts, Pond5 (the world stock media market place), and college recruitment groups.

There is even an ad for a poll questioning whether Republican Governor Rick Perry should be president.

A conservative news web site, TownHall.com, is advertising there along with the socially conservative ChristianMingle.com

While the New York protestors display videos showing themselves being arrested by local police, the Occupy Hawaii web site has ads for police recruitment.

The advertisements are theoretically matched automatically with web sites viewers who may buy their products.

The OccupyHawaii web site claims to represent a local movement, but dozens of other web sites for other cities and states mirror the Occupy Hawaii web site such as Occupy Akron , Occupy Alaska , Occupy Albany , Occupy Illinois and Occupy Milwaukee and they are all cross linked and also connect to a web site called https://www.occupyparty.org/

The movement, which began in New York several days ago, has attracted thousands of people who say they don’t want to tolerate “greed and corruption.”

OccupyWallStreet said: “The American Dream has been stolen from the world. Workers are told that they aren’t allowed health care, shelter, food. Students are told that they aren’t allowed jobs, and that they will be in debt for the rest of their lives, unable to declare bankruptcy. The 1% has destroyed this nation and its values through their greed. The 1% has stolen this world. We will not allow this to occur.”

In Hilo, a group of about 75 gathered earlier this week to protest the “1%” of the wealthy in Hawaii. See the reports and comments here.

  1. Capitalism is where if you make money you keep it and if you lose money that is your problem.

Socialism is where if you make money it is taxed from you to help the society and if you lose money, society is taxed to cover the loss.

Fascism is where if you make money you keep it, and only if you lose money society us taxed to cover the loss.

After $27 trillion in bailouts to cover the collapse of Wall Street’s Mortgage-Backed Securities fraud, the biggest financial swindle in history, it should be obvious that what OccupyWallStreet/OccupyHawaii opposes is fascism.

The question is, why aren’t you?

  2. Right on, Mike! Why all this attacking the kids. If anyone gets shafted, it’s them. If they know nothing about free market, the constitution, liberty… YOU older people have FAILED them. Look at these horrible useless wars, nothing but population pure and simple. Look, there has even been swat team raid over unpaid student loans! The cost of college tuition often upwards of $ 70,000 is absolutely a scam, Why does it cost so much money for a bunch of socialists to stand in a run down over refridgerated rooms and talk? It doesn’t. The name of the game is collapse the middle class. Former # 2 in Education Dept. Charlotte Isberty on you tube: “The purpose of education is not to learn reading, writing & arithmetric, the purpose of education is to change beliefs” We now have a problem on our hands -the harvest, of the deliberate dumbing down of American school children. (Charlotte Isberty/AmericanDeceptiondotcom) The killer video games, the slut role models, all beneath human dignity. Lay off, the young people have a right to be plenty mad. The media is working overtime trying to keep us divided. Get down there with love in your heart and make peace. Let’s heal this country together. We have huge common ground.
