Bodybuilding Fitness & Figure/Bikini Contest Set for Napa Auto Parts Bog Boys and MMA Hawaii Expo

HONOLULU, HAWAII – For the first time ever, the “NAPA Auto Parts Big Boys & MMA Hawaii Expo” is hosting a Bodybuilding and Figure/Bikini Championship. The competition is open to men, women and even teenagers and is being held Saturday, June 18th during the three-day expo at the Neal S. Blaisdell Exhibition Hall, from Friday to Sunday, June 17th to 19th. Admission is $15 and includes entry into the expo on Saturday only.

Special guests attending include Hawaii’s International Federation of Bodybuilding Professional and 2009 USA Welterweight winner Shavis Higa, Hawaii’s Top Female Bodybuilding Champion Diane Bumanglag, who was overall winner at the Paradise Cup and overall winner of the Las Vegas Classic, National Physique Committee USA Champion Ernie Santiago, USA Bodybuilding & Figure Championship competitor Brian Copeland, and Hawaii’s own 2008 Mr. High School Bodybuilding Champion from Ewa Beach Joshua Jaggers.

Hawaii’s most beautiful and physically fit islanders are invited to take part in various classes including, Open, Master and Novice Bodybuilding, and Figure, Bikini, Physique and Teenage bodybuilding competitors. To take part in the competition or for more information please call (808) 853-9179.

Team Hawaii, an organization committed to teaching awareness about health, fitness and nutrition to Hawaii’s youth, and its founder Johnny Ligsay Jr. are excited to partner with MMA as a way to promote healthy living. “ It was my volunteer work that led me to create the Team Hawaii,” says Ligsay. “Many of the teenagers that I would train (weightlifters) were interested in bodybuilding but had no events to get them started in Hawaii. As a veteran in bodybuilding, I felt it was my duty to provide a professional, yet amateur friendly, family event.”

The Bodybuilding Fitness and Figure/Bikini Championships will be held in the Pikake Room on Saturday, June 18th at the Neal S. Blaisdell Exhibition Hall. Prejudging is from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and the championship show starts at 6:00 p.m. Admission is $15 and includes entry into the expo on Saturday only. Tickets are available for purchase at the Pearl City, Muscle Inc. or call (808) 853-9179. Tickets bought on the day of the competition, Saturday, June 18th, will be $17 at the expo doors. Cash prizes for the Bikini Contest include $500 for first place, $300 for second place and $200 for third place finishers.
