John Rutledge, our favorite economist, did an op-ed recently in the ”’Wall Street Journal”’ (Jan. 21, 2006) on dividend and capital gains tax rates. He called for permanent tax cuts as a means to build capital in the U.S.A. Here are two quotes that have great relevance to us in Hawaii.
