The City Auditor released the 3rd annual Service Efforts and Accomplishments Report summarizing the performance and service quality for all City and County of Honolulu departments in the 2012 fiscal year. This report provides a unique level of transparency because it provides information on city agency results, 5-year trends, and comparisons to other cities. The report also includes the results of the 2012 survey of residents’ ratings of services, their ranking of public policy problems, and priorities to address in the next two years.
Residents will find the results of the city’s financial and staffing resources applied to potholes, sidewalks, and street repairs. Other information covers citizens’ perceptions regarding bus transportation services, the city’s capital spending, bond ratings and debt over the past 5 years. Maps identify the location of city services across O`ahu, including the deployment of fire, police and ocean safety lifeguard units by district, and regional progress in reducing water consumption.
“The goal of this report is to provide transparency in government and show government officials and residents how the city is performing,” City Auditor Edwin Young said.
