Elements at the Modern Celebrates Hawaii Fashion Month

HONOLULU, HAWAII – Hawaii Fashion Month (HFM) is kicking off at Elements at the Modern Honolulu on Friday, October 25, 2013. This is a unique fashion show; each fashion designer will represent each of the different elements featuring Aloha Sailor, KJ Kinis, ME Swimwear and Maia.
Not only will attendees have an exclusive preview at the Passageway and Sunrise Pool, they will get a first look of multiple collections worn by models provided by Wilhelmina Hawaii (Instagram: @wilhelminahawaii), along with an exhibition from PangeaSeed.

Aloha Sailor (representing wind) is a clothing label inspired by the sea and sailing with vintage, nautical designs and folklore to remind you to return to the sea.

With an innovative, trendy and Brazilian/Hawaiian Cut look, KJ KINIS (representing earth) displays and offers an innovative and trendy lifestyle collection in promotion of healthy, active and happy living.

Designed and sewn by hand here in Hawaii, ME Swimwear (representing water) is a small swimwear line specializing in one-of-a-kind and limited production swimwear.

The Little Gypsy will be collaborating with ME Swimwear. Little Gypsy’s products are unique and appeal to creative fashion forward women with passion, innovative, creations, and a unique perspective on life and how to live it.

A luxury resort/beachwear and accessories line, Maia (representing fire) began with an idea by Rupal Gohil who traveled and spent time in India. Exposure to a completely new world of fabric and design, she was immediately drawn to the vibrant colors, luxurious fabrics and exquisite detailing of Indian fashion.

Melinda Y. Butler is an elegant and feminine jewelry line handmade in Hawaii. Made with semi-precious gemstones, Butler’s jewelry will bedazzle Gohil’s line, Maia.

PangeaSeed, an international organization who collaborates with members of the art, science, and environmental activist communities. Through artivism (an explosion of creativity, a marrying of art and activism), PangeaSeed collaborates with today’s most influential creative minds to help give the oceans the voice they so desperately need.

Early arrival is encouraged, as there will be a 7:45 p.m. firework show, followed by the fashion show at 8:45 p.m.

Tickets for Elements at The Modern will be $10 presale prior to the day of admission, $20 full-access presale and $20 at the door. Limited VIP Bottle Service is available for $350 and covers up to six people per bottle.

The Elements at The Modern is Honolulu’s newest and classiest nightlife concept, happening every last Friday of the month from 7:00 p.m. – 4:00 a.m. This new promotion on the edge of Waikiki is the place to go every last Friday of the month. Now, patrons looking to start their weekend right can take full advantage of the many venues The Modern Honolulu has – Sunrise Pool, The Grove, The Study and Addiction Nightclub.
