REPORT FROM THE ATTORNEY GENERAL’S OFFICE – HONOLULU – State Attorney General David M. Louie announced today that on October 23, 2013, the Department of the Attorney General, Criminal Justice Division, charged former State welfare worker Erlinda Delacruzham, 59, with four counts of “Tampering with a Government Record” and four counts of “Misapplication of Entrusted Property”.

The complaint alleges that on four different occasions, Ms. Delacruzham tampered with government records by knowingly creating false approval notifications to welfare recipients.

On these four occasions Ms. Delacruzham, in her role as a State employee, also knowingly misapplied Hawaii food stamps benefits.  The complaint is merely a formal charging document and Ms. Delacruzham is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Attorney General David M. Louie said, “The Department of the Attorney General will vigorously prosecute State workers who abuse their positions of trust.”
