Funds Released to Repair Chapel at Kapiolani Community College

BY MICHELE VAN HESSEN --  Good News!  Funds have been released to repair the Chapel  at Kapiolani Community College on Diamond Head Road.

Representative Barbara Marumoto requested $575,000 in her 2010 Capitol  Improvement Project bill to renovate and repair the Chapel. 

The item  was subsequently included in the state budget. 

Today we hear from the  KCC Administration that Governor Lingle has released the money.

Wood rot and termite damage had weakened the historic structure that  once was a part of Fort Ruger. 

KCC will continue to use the Chapel  for classes and community use.
