Glenn K.L Yee Named Island Air Chief Financial Officer

Glenn K.L Lee

Glenn K.L. Yee, a veteran financial officer and executive for several well-known Hawaii businesses, has been named chief financial officer of Island Air. Yee assumed his new position on July 8.

“Glenn is a highly respected corporate finance figure in Hawaii and is great addition to our evolving Island Air team,” said Island Air CEO Paul Casey. “He brings with him the experience Island Air needs to expand into a modern interisland air carrier that will serve not only visitors, but residents who depend on air travel to move between the islands.”

“This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help build a much-needed, strong alternative airline for Hawaii,” Yee said. “I’m inspired by the vision that Paul Casey has not only for Island Air but for the Hawaii visitor industry and by their response to the need for Island residents to have a dependable and affordable means of interisland travel.”

Yee brings a wealth of experience to his position, having most recently been chief financial officer and treasurer for Steeltech, Inc., a major Hawaii specialty contractor focusing on the design and construction of industrial and commercial buildings. Earlier, he served for eight years as vice president of finance for Hawaiian Dredging Construction Co. Inc. He has also held executive positions at Persis Corp. and other Hawaii companies.

Yee graduated from the University of Hawaii with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in accounting. A certified public accountant and a certified construction industry financial professional, he served as past president and board member of the Hawaii chapter of Financial Executives International as well as the Construction Financial Management Association.

Yee met his wife Cindy while working as business assurance manager for Pricewaterhouse Coopers, the world’s largest professional services firm. Glenn and Cindy have two children, Marissa and Shane. Yee enjoys tennis, golf and fishing.

  2. Island Air has high prices. Maybe they should be less expensive and more qualitative.

  3. Hope he does a good job. I don't know whether or not to trust him yet.
