The 230th spent several months training at Schofield Barracks before deploying to Regional Command East, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, where they were responsible for numerous building projects that included: huts, outposts, Morale and Welfare facilities, latrines, aid stations, battle positions and more. Some of the last work they completed was preparing structures for the cold weather.
