·        Residential Permit
For the week of September 30, 2013 to October 6, 2013, Honolulu’s total number of residential photovoltaic (PV) permits issued was 286, down 14.4 percent from the previous week and down 55.5 percent from the same week of last year.  Year-to-date (YTD), Honolulu’s total number of residential PV permits reached 9,928, a 4.3 percent decrease from the same period last year.

Honolulu’s total value of residential PV permits was $8.02 million, down 3.7 percent from the previous week and down 60.0 percent from the same period last year.  YTD, Honolulu’s total value of residential PV permits reached $277.0 million, a 19.0 percent decrease from the same period last year.

The average value of residential PV permits was about $28,000.  This value is higher than the average value in the previous week ($24,900) but lower than the average value in the same period last year ($31,200).

·        Commercial PV Permits

For the week of September 30, 2013 to October 6, 2013, Honolulu issued 4 commercial PV permits, higher than the 2 commercial PV permits issued during the previous week, but lower than the 9 commercial PV permits issued during the same period last year.  YTD, Honolulu’s total numbers of commercial PV permits reached 170, a 51.8 percent increase from the same period last year.

Honolulu’s total value of commercial PV permits issued was $0.7 million, lower than the $2.4 million value of the previous week and lower than the $6.0 million in the same period last year.  YTD, Honolulu’s total value of commercial PV permits reached $58.6 million, a 35.9 percent decrease from the same period last year.

The average value of commercial PV permits was about $185,300, which is lower than the average value in the previous week ($1,197,800) and also lower than the average value in the same period last year ($666,400).
