REPORT FROM THE JUDICIAL SELECTION COMMISSION – Under the Constitution of the State of Hawaiʻi, Article VI, Section 3: “The Chief Justice, with the consent of the Senate, shall fill a vacancy in the district courts by appointing a person from a list of not less than six nominees for a vacancy presented by the Judicial Selection Commission.”

The Judicial Selection Commission is pleased to announce a list of judicial nominees for a vacancy at the District Family Court of the Second Circuit, State of Hawaii (island of Maui). The judicial office was formerly held by District Family Court Judge Geronimo Valdriz, Jr., who retired at the end of 2011.

The list of nominees selected by the Commission to fill the vacancy is as follows, in alphabetical order:

  • Michelle L. Drewyer
  • Kirstin Hamman
  • Adrianne N. Heely
  • Adriel C.S. Menor
  • Lloyd A. Poelman
  • Douglas J. Sameshima

Chief Justice Recktenwald has 30 days from his receipt of the list today to make his appointments.
