Less than a week after Sen. Sam Slom, R-Hawaii Kai, wrote to Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann asking him to listen to community concerns over proposed development along Ka Iwi Coast, the mayor has set up a town-hall style meeting for Wednesday, July 12, that he will co-sponsor with Slom.

While the mayor and his staff will update the community on the Niu sewer repair project as well as transportation and park-related issues in the area, the primary focus of the meeting set for 6:30 p.m. at Kaiser High School, will be the preservation of the yet undeveloped Ka Iwi Coastline in Hawaii Kai.
