mysterious lights

WEST OAHU – Several Oahu residents have reported seeing unusual light patterns Tuesday evening at around 7:35 pm.

Rayson Sakugawa said he witnessed an object over Schofield military barracks that didn’t appear to have wings like an airplane.

He added that the object was the “whitest bright light” and “had a thickness.” The light lasted about 5 minutes, he said.

Tuesday night, a Coast Guard official said the lights could be from some sort of meteor activity.

Wednesday, the Department of Defense told Hawaii News Now that the lights may have been caused by testing of the Aegis Ashore ballistic missile defense system at the Pacific Missile Range Facility at Barking Sands on Kauai.
