Plant roots caused a crack in an 8-inch sewer last night near 98-785 Iho Place in Pearlridge, resulting in a leak of about 12 hundred gallons.

City crews responded and contained the spill within an hour. None of the spill entered storm drains or waterways.

The state Department of Health was notified. Signs were posted. The situation will be monitored. Further updates will be provided as warranted.
