Rep. Pine’s Inbox: HMC Closure Town Hall Meeting and Cybercrime Testimony Needed


Aloha, Many of you have contacted me with questions and concerns about finding solutions to the Hawaii Medical Center closure. To help you find answers, I will host a town hall meeting on Thursday, February 9, 2012 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. in the Kapolei Middle School dining room at 91-5335 Kapolei Parkway. Panelists will include professionals from the Wahiawa General Hospital, Tripler Army Medical Center, Pali Momi Medical Center, the Hawaii Medical Association and State and City officials. Please click here for the flyer. I hope to see you there!

The many Hawaii victims of cybercrime would appreciate your support and testimony for important bills to be heard in Senate committees on Wednesday, February 8, 2012. Details are below on what the bills would do and how to testify.

Bills relating to Internet will be heard on Wednesday, February 8th to include SB 2389 which would require businesses to have a written policy detailing how they protect your information, a measure to avoid identity theft. A copy of SB 2389 can be found here. SB 2254 would require Internet dating services to give safety awareness notification to Hawaii users as well as authorize the Attorney General to take action against violators.  A copy of SB 2254 can be found here.Submit testimony in ONE of the following ways:
