HONOLULU, HAWAII – Marsha Bolson, Vice Chair of the ‘Olelo Community Media Board of Directors, has announced the appointment of Roy K. Amemiya, Jr. as the organization’s interim President & CEO.

In the announcement, Ms. Bolson said, “The board of ‘Olelo Community Media applauds Governor Abercrombie’s appointment of Keali’i S. Lopez, ‘Olelo’s President and CEO, as Director of the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs. Although Ms. Lopez’s appointment means ‘Olelo loses an extraordinarily skilled, visionary and passionate leader, we are proud and happy for this new and exciting experience for her.

The board is pleased to announce that today it named Chief Operating Officer Roy Amemiya as interim President and CEO. Board member Rochelle Gregson will immediately head up an executive search committee to seek a new President and CEO for the organization.”

Mr. Amemiya joined ‘Olelo this past August as its Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining ‘Olelo, Amemiya served as Senior Vice President of Central Pacific Bank and the former City Bank.
