Digs Hawaii, Tantriq Entertainment and HPE Live are proud to present a very special Soul Sessions Vol. 4 Valentine's Day concert with legendary R&B smooth sensations K-Ci & JoJo, Bobby V, Blackstreet and Shai on Valentine's Day, Thursday, February 14, at 7:30 p.m. the Blaisdell Arena.
Give that special someone the perfect gift: A night out with some of the best-known, most romantic crooners of the '90s!
K-Ci & JoJo
Brothers Cedric and Joel Hailey make up chart-topping '90s R&B duo K-Ci & JoJo, perhaps best known for the sweet ballad "All My Life," often considered one of the greatest jazz pop melodies of all time, and the No. 2 Billboard hit, "Tell Me It's Real." In 1996, the brothers started K-Ci & JoJo as a side project, and it became a full-fledged success with the release of their debut album, “Love Always,” which sold over four million copies. K-Ci & JoJo's follow-up album, “It's Real,” was also certified platinum.
Bobby Wilson, better known by his stage name Bobby V (previously known as Bobby Valentino), began his solo career as the first R&B artist on Disturbing Tha Peace Records, featured on Ludacris' hit single "Pimpin' All Over the World." His first album was certified gold, and his first single, "Slow Down", became a Top 10 hit on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart and #1 R&B single.
In 2005, Bobby V joined Bow Wow, Omarion, Marques Houston, B5 and Pretty Ricky on the legendary Scream Tour IV. Since then, he has appeared beside many of the genre's big names, like Lil Wayne, Timbaland and Nikki Minaj.
One of the top R&B vocal groups of the '90s, Blackstreet was founded by singer and producer Teddy Riley after the breakup of his trio, Guy. In 1994, the group's self-titled debut album went platinum, with the hit single "Before I Let You Go."
Blackstreet rocketed to the top of the charts in 1996 with smash single "No Diggity," which featured special guest Dr. Dre. The song stayed on top of the pop charts for four weeks and won a Grammy for Best R&B Vocal by a Duo or Group.
In 1999, the group broke up, but reformed in 2003 and released a new album, “Level II.”
Four-man R&B group Shai shot to the top of the R&B and pop charts with their debut album in 1992, and its title track, “If I Ever Fall in Love,” which reached #2 in the U.S. Top 40 charts. Their next two singles, from the double-platinum album “Right Back Atcha” were "Comforter" and "Baby I'm Yours," each peaking at #10 on the charts. The group, with their smooth vocal harmonies, continues to record and has remained hot on the R&B charts ever since.
The Soul Sessions Vol. 4 Valentine's Day concert at Blaisdell is sponsored by The Modern Honolulu, Coors Light, Miller Lite, Vacations Hawaii and Dave & Buster's.
