REPORT FROM THE STATE LEGISLATURE – Lieutenant Governor Shan Tsutsui and former U.S. Senator Dan Akaka administered the oath of office to Hawaii State Representative Mark Takai during his Lieutenant Colonel Promotion Ceremony.  It was held in Lieutenant Governor Shan Tsutsui’s Ceremonial Room.

“I was honored to join Sen. Akaka on this monumental day for Mark as he is officially promoted to Lieutenant Colonel.  Mark has found a seamless way to bridge both his careers as a member of the State House of Representatives and as an officer in the Hawaii Army National Guard and that is commendable,” said Lieutenant Governor Shan Tsutsui.
