Mauna Lani Shows Green Streak to Travel Channel
By Sweetie Nelson, 6/20/2008 7:56:38 AM

When it comes to being "green," Mauna Lani is a pioneer in the resort industry, having been in the game for more than a decade.

Condé Nast Traveler named Mauna Lani one of the "World's Top Eco-Friendly" resorts in its January, 2008 issue. In April, Mark Glickman, director of resort marketing, spoke about "The Power of Green Marketing" to attendees at the annual Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association's national conference.

And earlier this month, the Travel Channel (pictured) shot the Big Island resort for a new eco-conscious program called "Extreme Green."

Mauna Lani's solar panel arrays (which generate the most solar electric power of any luxury resort in the world) and the preservation of its ancient Hawaiian fishponds were a few highlights of the program, airing this Fall on the Travel Channel.
