ALBUQUERQUE, NM (Talon News) -- A mysterious Internet Service Provider that hosts at least 20 terrorist web sites as well as providing a platform for viewers to access the videos of the recent beheadings in Iraq says it doesn't support terrorism.
Viewers to one of Hosting Anime's now former terror sites (web site) can read the following notice:
"This site has currently been removed for violating our (terms of service). We have received a lot of emails from viewers, concerned with the nature of content in which we host. We would like to inform you all, that HostingAnime does not support terrorism or attacks against our country/soldiers in any way, shape or form. If any of you have any additional comments that you would like addressed, please open a ticket through our help desk located at www.hostinganime.com/cgi-bin/help/pdesk.cgi. We would like to thank our host mlhosting.net and NameCheap.com for working with us through these issues."
However, www.hostinganime.com/sout19 and many other terror sites under the Hosting Anime banner remain on line, and a notice posted on August 22 on Hosting Anime's forum site by an individual named "Swimfan" seems to run counter to the company's claim of not supporting terrorism.
The message reads, "We've had nothing but great experience with Hosting Anime's service. Although you wouldn't expect us to be using a so-called 'tool of the devil,' it has worked quite well for sharing our messages with the masses. Take for instance our site www.hostinganime.com/iraqnews1. Please note that although we're not Americans, we appreciate you allowing us to take advantage of this 'First Amendment right' thing. Thanks Hosting Anime."
An attempt to contact Hosting Anime through its forum was not immediately returned.
A check of the registration information for http://www.mlhosting.net/, the company listed as helping Hosting Anime work through the issues of terrorism and attacks, revealed the person behind that site is Trevor Justus.
In a telephone interview, Justus disclaimed any knowledge of Hosting Anime and its statement saying that he had assisted the company. However, he did confirm that like Hosting Anime, he also rents computer space from the Houston-based Internet Service Provider Everyone's Internet (EV1). While not contacted for this story, EV1 has routinely refused comment about its apparently routine provision of computer space for terrorist groups.
In a recent story about EV1's hosting of Hosting Anime, Britain's Daily Mail reported that it had been told by an Internet expert who advises the U.S. government on terrorism that the sites will eventually enable the terrorists behind them to be found.
And also according to the Mail, a U.S. Customs deputy special agent for Houston said, "There's going to be no comment on this whatsoever."
While Justus said he would provide an e-mailed statement saying he had no knowledge of or connection with Hosting Anime, it was not immediately forthcoming. A number that Justus had earlier called from would not accept incoming telephone calls when an attempt was made to request further comment.
Contact with Trevor Justus was obtained through his father Randy Justus of Arvada, CO., who runs an organization called Justus and Associates.
Trevor Justus is also listed as the contact person for his father's site. Randy Justus reiterated that his son has absolutely no connection with terrorism.
According to Randy Justus' web site, his company was "recently formed to provide professional security consulting services to government and industry clients. The company is an association of security professionals with extensive knowledge and experience in a diverse range of security services derived from a variety of government agencies, industry, and law enforcement entities. J&A's primary business line is conducting vulnerability assessments and risk analysis, based upon personnel, information, physical, cyber, operations, and antiterrorism security disciplines."
