The roads to the Dole Cannery were lined with Akaka supporters on Tuesday waving signs for the “Great Senator.” At the entrance of the ballroom Dan Akaka, shrouded in ti-leaf leis, greeted his supporters and admires with his grandfatherly smile.
The room was packed, the food okay, the company weighted toward Akaka supporters with a few independents actually interested in the issues.
