UHERO: APEC Briefing Reports Now Available

BY DENISE E. KONAN - Leaders of the 21 economies in the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation forum will meet in Hawai’i in November 2011.

The APEC gathering will provide an unprecedented opportunity to showcase Hawai’i’s rich cultural heritage, hospitality, and international excellence.

As the meetings approach, UHERO will provide relevant data and analysis for stakeholders and the local community. Briefing reports on APEC member economies are now available on the UHERO web site.

These reports, which were prepared by undergraduate students from the UH Department of Economics, provide a one-page synopsis of economic conditions and policies in each country:

UHERO is pleased to sponsor student research on important policy issues. UHERO Undergraduate Research reports do not necessarily represent the views of UHERO or the University of Hawaii.

Denise E. Konan is the Director of the UHERO Energy and Greenhouse Gas Solutions Program and Advisor to the UH President on APEC.
