Hydrogen and fuel cell industry experts joined Senator Daniel Akaka to brief Senate staff on balance needed between industry and government commitments.
Until there are enough fuel cell vehicles to support stations that service them, said stations need continued government investment. But funding hydrogen and fuel cell development/deployment should not occur at expense of other technologies, because balance of advanced transportation alternatives is required to compete with incumbent fuels.
