Hawaii Senator Daniel Inouye fell at his home, cut his head and was treated at Bethesda Naval Hospital before being released in “fine” condition, his office said today.
Inouye, 88, the senior member and President pro tem of the U.S. Senate, “fell this morning and sustained a minor cut to the back of his head,” said spokesman Peter Boylan.
“He did not lose consciousness but was taken to the Bethesda Naval Hospital as a precaution and treated and released,” said Boylan.
Inouye “wanted to put a bandage on and come to work but his family insisted he get it checked out,” Boylan said.
“The Senator and his family would like to thank everyone for the well wishes and support. He is fine and resting at home,” said Boylan.
