HONOLULU, HAWAII “The people of Hawai’i will be challenged to Ho’omaika’ikai — “to ask for blessing,” or “to return to our origins.” at the Voyage of Aloha conference, organized by local professionals and Hawaiian leaders and held on May 25-28, 2012. The conference will bring individuals together to connect with their authentic selves, each other, and to share the power of aloha as a model for the rest of the world. Voyage of Aloha will cultivate skills and share tools for living from connectedness, and participants will develop a personal plan for living their unique journey.

The exercises, ideas and philosophies at the conference integrate Native Hawaiian spirituality and practice, key teachings from Joseph Campbell’s work, and the practical insights of the World Business Academy.

Hawaiian cultural leader Kauila Clark, trained as a traditional Hawaiian practitioner and also as a zen “shihan,” leads the conference with Hawaiian spiritual truths. He will lead conference attendees through a Saturday morning Hiu Wai ceremony that allows one to release burdens into the ocean. President of the Joseph Campbell Foundation Robert Walter will be leading sessions at the conference that compel us forward on our “Hero’s Journey” and to cultivate an authentic path for ourselves. Founder of the World Business Academy Rinaldo Brutoco will lead a live mentoring conversation with young entrepreneurs, including Bronson Chang of Uncle Clay’s House of Pure Aloha, and inspire conference attendees with ideas for seeking business solutions that are integrated with building community.

Ho’omaika’ika’i: Voyage of Aloha is an outgrowth of a 2008 Resolution of the Hawaii Legislature encouraging and supporting organizations to promote Hawaii’s role as the “Spiritual Harmony Capital of the World”. The conference also celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Joseph Campbell Foundation and the 25th anniversary of the World Business Academy.

The Voyage of Aloha Community is dedicated to Hawaii fulfilling its mission to reawaken the truth of our unity and dedicated to the mission of Hawaii as the Spiritual Harmony Capital of the World. Through conferences, programs and education, the Voyage of Aloha Community offers growing experiences and creates platforms for people to discover and develop their spiritual journey for themselves and to continually evolve to the next level of consciousness.
