KAPOLEI—Ah, the good old days. Pacific Roller Derby pays homage to its original home teams in this throwback scrimmage fundraiser. Cheer on your local derby players as they don either green or black shirts—original home-team colors—and challenge each other on the outdoor track at the Hideaway Club, located on the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station at Barbers Point.

Non-military fans are required to RSVP at https://bit.ly/uN6Jyl by midnight on Friday, June 8, to gain access to U.S. Coast Guard Air Station for the afternoon event.

Food and drinks are available for purchase at the Hideaway Club. Show your love for Pacific Roller Derby and the sport—stop by the Pacific merchandise booth for league logo wear, totes, pins and more.

Mark your calendars for July 15! The proceeds from this scrimmage support Pacific for the first ever Battle of the Islands, a statewide roller derby competition, taking place in Hilo in July, and in September on Oahu for round two. Pacific will take on teams from the Big Island, Maui and Kauai. Stay tuned for more details.

In 2008, Pacific Roller Derby (Pacific) brought back the excitement of roller derby back to Honolulu, Hawaii. The all female flat-track roller derby league has shown fans what it means to push one’s self to their highest potential and form a strong community around one of the world’s fastest growing female dominated sports. As members of this league we continue to keep the enthusiasm alive and spread the derby love. In 2009, Pacific became a member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). Pacific is currently ranked 24 out of 38 in the WFTDA international-based Western division. WFTDA promotes and fosters the sport of women’s flat-track derby by developing athletic ability, sportswomanship, and goodwill among member leagues. Pacific is excited to learn about local sponsorship opportunities and about local venues to call home for their on-skates events so they may continue to spread roller derby’s popularity around the island.
