When House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi spent her Christmas and New Years holidays in on the Big Island of Hawaii, county taxpayers picked up part of the bill.

Federal security also is provided for her, but Capitol police have refused to release the cost.

Pelosi does pay for her own travel and accommodations.

The Four Seasons Resort Hualalai’s details its luxurious setting and amenities on its web site: “Gloriously revitalised, this natural tropical paradise offers more than ever to explore – with a newly expanded Spa, beachfront dining, fashion boutiques and new Deluxe Suites, in addition to Jack Nicklaus signature golf.
