On Friday, May 28, Chancellor Manny Cabral accepted a “Lifetime Achievement Award” from Searider Productions/Waianae High School on behalf of the college’s support for their program.

Through HUD grants totaling $900,000, the college worked with Waianae High School and the program coordinator, Candy Suiso, to establish Waianae’s Searider Productions, along with a production facility and expanded digital media and animation facilities. The partnership also resulted in pathways for the students to move into college level courses in TVPRO and digital media.

Chancellor Cabral states, “I’d like to specifically acknowledge Vice Chancellor/CAO Mike Pecsok and digital media/TVPRO instructor Irwin Yamamoto for being the front men who worked directly with this program in making so many great things happen together for our Leeward Coast Waianae HS students.”
