House Resolution 563, pending in Congress, pardons former border patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, who were recently sentenced to 12 years in prison for doing their job and protecting our border.

They were in pursuit of an illegal immigrant drug-smuggler who was fleeing in his van, which was full of more than 700 pounds of marijuana.

It turned into a chase on foot. One agent fell to the ground while trying to stop the drug smuggler and subsequently opened fire on the smuggler. The other agent thought he saw a gun in the drug smuggler
