1) a tile size is 210 pixels wide by 115 pixels tall and costs $150 / month
plus tax.

2) a square  size is 300 pixels wide by 250 pixels tall and costs $250 / month
plus tax.

3) a skyscraper size is 210 pixels wide by 450 pixels tall and costs $350 /
month plus tax.

4) a horizontal size is 463 pixels wide x 57 pixels tall and costs $200 / month plus tax.

The above rates are for ads on the front page, based on availability.

Spaces available on the inside pages include the following:

  • A tile size ad  running in all the editorial and feature sections costs $200 / month plus tax.
  • The horizontal size ad following the full stories and located before the comments is $50 / month plus tax.
  • Or buy a tile size ad for the front page and on all the inside pages and the rate is $300 / month plus tax.

Discounts are available for non-profit organizations: the rate is $50 off per
month from the regular ad rates.

Buy ads for multiple time frames, and the per month discounts are as

1x rate = 100%
3x rate = 90%
6x rate = 75%
12x rate = 65%
24x rate = 50%

Ads are paid for in advance. Pay with Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover cards or mail a check for the total amount due to Hawaii Reporter and sent to the mailing address at P.O. Box 11664, Honolulu, HI 96828.  Once the size ad and length of time for advertising is determined, a total price will be determined.

The ad needs to be emailed in the requested size in a jpg (jpeg), gif or animated gif format, along with the Web address where the ad will link.
