Former Lt. Governor Asks Community to Support former Gov. Linda Lingle for U.S. Senate
BY DUKE AIONA - Thanks to supporters like you and I, Governor Linda Lingle enjoyed an overwhelming amount of support in the primary election for Hawaii's open U.S. Senate seat. But her biggest challenge still lies ahead as she goes on to face Congresswoman Mazie Hirono in the General Election on November 6. I ask you to personally support Linda Lingle's campaign to ensure that she becomes our next U.S. Senator. She will give us the best possible representation at the federal level.
Governor Lingle understands that this election is about people, not politics. This race presents a clear choice between an independent leader, who is experienced in making tough decisions and getting things done for the people of Hawaii, and Mazie Hirono, a partisan Washington insider with no record of accomplishments, and who believes this election is about national political parties and President Obama.
Linda Lingle has the heart and vision to be the leader Hawaii needs in Washington, D.C. As her Lieutenant Governor for eight years, I worked side-by-side with her every day and personally witnessed her thoughtful, selfless and tremendously effective leadership for the people of our state.
As our Governor, Linda Lingle had the courage to make many tough decisions. She always had the best interest of the people of Hawaii in mind and in her heart. Today, tough decisions need to be made in Washington. I know she will rise to the occasion again and meet these decisions with thoughtful compassion and a commitment to the people of her home and state.
This is a momentous opportunity for the people of Hawaii to send a new leader to the U.S. Senate. While I don't agree with her on every issue, I emphatically believe that Linda Lingle would be a great U.S. Senator, and I am asking you to help her in these remaining days of the campaign.
Governor Lingle needs your help in this important election. If you haven't done so already, please pledge your support for her by visiting the campaign website www.Lingle2012.com, by emailing her at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling her campaign headquarters at 777-8845.
Most importantly, you can help Linda Lingle by voting for her on November 6. To ensure you are registered to vote, please call the campaign at 777-8845 and they can help you through the very simple process.
Aloha ke Akua,
