The State Office of Elections today issued the proclamation officially setting May 22 as the day for the special election to fill the unexpired term of the First Congressional District seat vacated by former Congressman Neil Abercrombie.
I am pleased that there is now certainty on when the special election will be held. This date is important for my campaign as well as the voters of the First Congressional District who now know when they can choose their next representative to the United States Congress.
