    “In July 2009, the state prosecutor charged 46-year old Felix Thaxton of Honolulu with raping and promoting prostitution of a 13-year old girl from Oahu. The young girl reported that after being raped in ihs vehicle, Thaxton tried to force her into prostitution, saying he had two others working for him.” Honolulu Star-Bulletin.

    Advocates for Public Interest Law and Hawaii Women’s Lawyers are hosting a panel discussion entitled, WANTED: HOLISTIC POLICIES AGAINST HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN HAWAII on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 3:45 p.m. in Classroom 4.

    UH Gender Equity Specialist, Jennifer Rose, will moderate the panelists, which includes Bow Mun Chin of Hawaii Immigrant Justice Center, Kathryn Xian of Pacific Alliance to Stop Slavery, Marie Elena Clariza, the Immigration advisor to Domestic Violence Action Center and UH Philippine Specialist Librarian, and Jennifer Allen, a UH Richardson School of Law 2L and activist.
