HONOLULU — The Honolulu Board of REALTORS® launched its redesigned website, www.hicentral.com, which is now faster, more user-friendly and accessible to the public.  The new website allows users to find listings by specific neighborhoods on every island statewide, and get information about open houses in an easy-to-navigate layout on their computer, tablet or smartphone.

“We’re very excited about this upgrade to our website,” said Rochelle Lee Gregson, Chief Executive Officer of the Honolulu Board of REALTORS®.  “Our membership has been asking for a more robust site that will allow consumers to search properties more efficiently, personalize their experience and use tools such as social media.  This upgrade allows them to do that and much more.”

The enhancements are part of a three-phase plan to completely revamp the website, making it easier for users to find their dream home.  Future improvements will include allowing users to e-mail and “favorite” a listing, save custom searches, and share information via Facebook, Twitter, and other social media.

The public is encouraged to visit www.hicentral.com to see what’s happening in the housing market. Visitors to the website will have the ability to search listings statewide as well as to view and download a comprehensive guide of homes that will be open to visit this Sunday.  All searches can be performed by geographic location, desired characteristics, price range and more.  Hicentral.com also provides potential homebuyers and sellers with useful information about Hawaii’s real estate market.

Established in 1922, the Honolulu Board of REALTORS® is one of the largest of 1,500 boards of REALTORS® in the nation and, with more than5,000 members, one of the largest trade organizations on Oahu. Membership is available to licensed real estate brokers, agents, property managers, appraisers, counselors and others engaged in all aspects of the real estate industry who pledge to adhere to a strict Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
