BY REP. GENE WARDWhen Barbara announced she was retiring I was shocked and immediately knew that the state would be losing one of its most capable leaders.

Barbara was an invaluable resource to the members of the House and especially the Republican caucus.  Her institutional knowledge of our state is second to none and she is someone we could always go to for guidance and perspective on almost any issue.

I could go on for hours about how we will miss Barbara in the House but the time has come to celebrate her service and I hope you can help us do that.  In a final selfless act of service to better government, Barbara’s first priority when we asked about doing this party was that we use it as a way to raise much needed funds to support bright young leaders that can take her place in the House.

This is why we have partnered with Hawaii Solutions to put on this retirement party.  Hawaii Solutions is the only state Super PAC focused on getting more Republicans elected to the State Legislature and the funds raised at this event will go directly to do just that.

I hope you can join us on Wednesday the 10th at Waialae Country Club to honor Barbara and her faithful service to our State.  There will be private pre-reception at 5:30 with Barbara and the host committee and the general reception will begin at 6:30.  Come prepared to participate in a toast and roast with other notables for each of her 34 years of public service.

If you can make it on the 10th, please click here to purchase tickets online or you can RSVP by responding to this email or calling 808-937-8382.  If you can not make it, you can also click here to make a contribution to Hawaii Solutions in honor of Barbara and her service and support the House Victory Fund.

I hope to see you on Wednesday.

Sincerely,Rep. Gene Ward
