Smart Business Hawaii, Hawaii’s most effective small business advocacy organization, hosts its 38th Annual Business & Investment Conference, Tuesday, May 13, 2014, in the Hibiscus Ballroom of the Ala Moana Hotel, from 8 am to 2 pm. The public is welcome; advance registration is required (at PH 808-396-1724 or 808-349-5438).

The theme is: “Working for a BETTER Hawaii Business Climate.”


There is something for every Hawaii business, regardless of size.

Speakers include: Mike McCartney, President, Hawaii Tourism Authority; Jonathan Young, President, Associated Builders & Contractors; Bob Sigall, Best Selling Author of “The Companies We Keep;” Tom Yamachika, Tax Foundation of Hawaii; Mark Storfer, Hilo Hattie and Naomi Hazelton-Giambrone, Element Media/Pacific Edge Magazine.

They will provide industry updates, business demographics, tax impact and tips for success.

The Minimum Wage, fees, and mandates are on the agenda.

A panel on, “Technology That Will Help Your Business Soar,” includes: Dale Evans, Charley’s Taxi; Peter Kay, Your Computer Minute/Cybercom, and Cole Slater of Maui Divers.

Luncheon keynote speaker is Patrick Snow, an international best-selling author, professional keynote speaker, publishing coach, and Internet entrepreneur.  Snow has electrified and inspired more than 1,500 audiences worldwide over the last 20 years create their own destinies and get exactly what they want out of life and work.
