The Hypocrisy of Occupy Wall Street Demonstrators

BY JEFF CHURCHILL – The hypocrisy of these radical Leftist mobs at the “Occupy Wall Street” demonstrations, demonizing our Constitution, creating class warfare, complaining about corporate greed and how corporations are running our Country just simply boggles the mind.

This is basically characteristic of the old Marxist ideologies used back in the Sixties and Seventies now being promoted not only by the “Working Families Party” (sounds pretty Marxist), “Democratic Socialists of America” and the “Move On” folks for the past four weeks in New York City, including the ones here in our state of Hawaii.

Even the President of the United States and numerous members of Congress are also supporting the cause!

Nothing like the promotion of the mobs, reminiscent of the French Revolution mentality; my how dangerous is this?

Really dangerous, this is how the 1992 Los Angeles Riots were ignited. Moments after the announcement of the acquittal of the four Los Angeles Police Officers at the end of Rodney King trial, politicians like former Mayor Tom Bradley of Los Angeles and Congresswoman Maxine Waters during live televised press conferences, told their constituents to take it to the streets; so they did!

So, in typical fashion this is what our “Community Organizer” President does best, like most Marxists, he has been promoting “Class Warfare” and “Redistribution of Wealth.” So, at every opportunity he and his minions have been spewing and misleading American’s that the rich don’t pay their fare share in taxes and that there has to be a “shared responsibility” in order for our Country to survive. So, low and behold what are these mobs screaming about, “Tax the Rich” and “Greedy Corporations!”

Never mind that President Obama during his 2008 Presidential Campaign took thousands of dollars from these same Wall Street corporations. Including hiring many executives from Goldman Sachs who are now working within his Administration; ah, the hypocrisy.!

What Obama fails to point out, the rich do pay their fare share of Federal Taxes: the top 1% pay 38%, the top 5% pay 59% , the top 10% pay 70% , the top 25% pay 86%, and the top 50% pay 97.3%.

The lower 50% only pay 2.7%!

Recently it has been disclosed that these or some of these “Occupy Wall Street” protesting mobsters are being paid by the sponsors, Working Families Party, Democratic Socialists of America, SEIU/ACORN, and financier George Soros. Advertisements were posted in various on line publications, like “Craigs List” willing to pay between $350-$650 per week depending on the jobs performed, plus benefits:

So, there you have it; more hypocrisy, they have to pay these demonstrators!

What’s hilarious are the elitists, like “Credit Card” mogul Russell Simmons, Hollywood’s Susan Sarandon, Michael Moore, Roseanne Barr, who are all worth millions, take a hop in their “corporate jets,” land at La Guardia Airport, jump in their carbon spewing limos, stop by, discharge their seething rhetoric and then fly out; like pigeons!

Also, among the more pro-government speakers was, the Marxist, Frances Fox Piven, co-author of the infamous “Cloward-Piven Strategy.” She and her partner devised a strategy to collapse our Country/economy through welfare. Quite frankly, they were responsible for New York City’s bankruptcy in 1975; according to former Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Sadly, Frances Fox Piven is still teaching as a professor at Columbia University.

Since the beginning President Obama, Vice President Biden, Representative Pelosi and many other Leftist politicians were praising the “organically spontaneousness” of these rioting mob demonstrators; who by the way, have been urinating and defecating in the streets of New York City, even on emergency vehicles! And, there’s been nearly 1000 arrested!

Yet these same politicians, were villainizing the TEA Party Rallies across the Nation, who were organized with a clear message: Fiscal Responsibility, Limited Constitutional Government and Free Market Economics; wow, the promotion of our United States Constitution!

The big question is, why are these Leftist Politicians, like President Obama, Vice President Biden, Representative Nancy Pelosi, Senator Harry Reid and others so against the TEA Parties?

By the way, with all the TEA Party rallies across the Nation, zero TEA Party member arrests.

Ironically, if greedy corporations were running this Nation, why would they tolerate the EPA, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Nation Labor Relations Board and the Treasury Departments government regulators, who create hostile business environments in our Country?!

Maybe these hooligans should focus their anger and march on the White House, protesting President Obama’s failed policies!

President Obama knows the answers, but he refuses to acknowledge the successes of prior administrations: Warren G. Harding, Calvin Coolidge, John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan; why? I think you know the answer.

  1. The “crime” of this Occupy Wall Street silliness is the fawning coverage it gets from the mainstream media — that serves to feed it. It’s in stark juxtaposition to the coverage achieved by the larger and more widespread Tea Party in 2009 and subsequently.

  2. “The Hypocrisy of Occupy Wall Street Demonstrators”

The author of this article and the first commenter completely misunderstand what the OWS movement is about. It is NOT about Marxism it has everything to do about Capitalism. Real Capitalism.

Financial entities on Wall Street and elsewhere have encumbered themselves with world wide massive debts that can not be repaid, ever.

The European Central Bank has estimated that this total debt to be over 1.5 Quadrillion Dollars. That is right. 1.5 Quadrillion dollars, and it looks like this, $1,500,000,000,000,000.

“Nobody knows for certain how large the worldwide derivatives market is, but most estimates usually put the notional value of the worldwide derivatives market somewhere over a quadrillion dollars.  If that is accurate, that means that the worldwide derivatives market is 20 times larger than the GDP of the entire world.  It is hard to even conceive of 1,000,000,000,000,000 dollars.”

You and I had no part in creating this debt but now the people who created it want you and me and every other citizen of Hawaii to bail them out.

It is called the Socialization of LOSS and the Privatization of PROFIT.

The to Big to Fail Banks have control of our government and its politicians so they are using that muscle to save themselves at your expense.

If you want to know more about what this disaster is costing you please watch this interview from the “PBS News Hour” of a Bloomberg Financial News Investigative Reporter who looked into this problem in depth.

The OWS movement represents all of us who are not corporate CEOS and Bank Presidents.

OWS is fighting for you and me and for the reestablishment of Real Capitalism where everybody, including the banks, play by the same rules on a level playing field.

The OWS is telling the Wall Street crowd, “You broke it. You pay for it.”

Don’t look to me to pay for your mistakes.

  3. I hate to break this to you Doug but the Lions just took a 7-0 lead in the 2nd quarter. I guess we'll finally get to see if they can play well when they aren't trailing by 20 points in the first half.
