US Launches Program to Apprehend Homegrown Terrorists

The Department of Justice and the White House have launched a program in some U.S. cities to identify and apprehend violent extremists and homegrown terrorists before they strike.

The effort brings together community representatives, public safety officials, religious leaders, and federal law enforcement in support of the nation’s counter-terrorism effort, according to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.

Holder said the emergence of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, where some American have attempted to go in order to join the extremist militants, underscores the urgent nature of the threat Americans face from violent extremists.

The new security program is a coordinated effort of the U.S. Department of Justice, the White House, the Department of Homeland Security, and the National Counterterrorism Center.

The announcement comes ahead of the Countering Violent Extremism summit the White House will host in October.

  1. Although it should be one of the a security concern, finding tracking & stopping them will cost too much money.
    I would actually let them leave, & strip their "hard" earned citizenship at this point, erase the soc. security number, & points earned to return to US Treasury.
    I'm sorry the families have to cut them off though.

    • I don't believe Holder and the Just-Us dept. are as interested in the black muslim with 9 kids from Somalia, I mean Minnesota, who worked at the Minneapolis airport, as he is about right wing Christian, and TEA party groups.
      This is the Holder who under Atty. gen. Stone wall Reno, slaughtered the kids and the parents at the Davidian compound. Adding to his stellar career as an affirmative action Atty. Gen, Holder facilitated the release of unrepentant FMLN terrorists to sew up the New York Puerto Rican vote for Hildebeast Clinton. And of course his part as under Sec.Atty gen. in springing International fugitive Marc Rich from jail. Rich's wife worked real hard on Bill Clinton with that one.
      According to White House logs, she visited BJ Clinton more than Monica Lewinsky did.

  2. There are many educational institutions in the world, private and government too. Millions of people are getting education from these institutions, making their future, making them to be able to do what would the time want from them.
