BY AT&T – Do: Send your Valentine an e-card using your smartphone. Free apps, such as Red Stamp, can customize e-cards using photos right from your phone.

Don’t: Don’t send your e-card to the wrong person in your contact list. It could lead to a cupid catastrophe!

Do: It’s OK to send a flirty text under the table to your Valentine.

Don’t: Check your emails and answer text messages to your single friends who aren’t out on a date.

Do: Get your reservation early using an app, such as OpenTable, on your smartphone.

Don’t: Don’t wait until the last minute to get dinner reservations. Set a calendar reminder on your phone and book in advance, even the day before to beat the crowds and have a more memorable evening. That way you won’t end up spending more money on a make-up gift.

Do: Get creative with your Valentine’s gift this year. Use your smartphone to browse online retailers, such as Tiffany & Co., and get a gift that keeps on giving.

Don’t: Be afraid to think big if it’s a special Valentine. Flowers are thoughtful but diamonds are a girl’s best friend.

Do: Capture those special moments on camera using your smartphone and share with friends and family (IF appropriate).

Don’t: Continuously post photos or status updates to a social network while spending time with your Valentine. Give full attention to your special someone and check your check-ins at the door along with your coat.

Better: turn off the phone for the evening!
