President Barack Obama said Friday the U.S. would boost security throughout the nation and respond forcefully in its investigation of two suspicious packages found on cargo planes bound for the U.S.

Obama, addressing the nation in a televised news conference from the White House, said authorities were responding to a “credible” terrorist threat. He said authorities have confirmed the packages originated from Yemen.
