Hawaiian Springs Water Expands to New York Market

HONOLULU, HAWAII – Hawaiian Springs, LLC, a Hawaii-based premium natural bottled water company, has entered the New York retail market through distribution at 170 locations including 30 Gristedes stores in Manhattan, Westchester and Brooklyn, as well as 140 other independent market retailers throughout New York City. The addition of the New York Metro market has increased Hawaiian Springs’ retailer presence on the U.S. Mainland by 25 percent in 2011.

Gristedes, which began serving New York City customers in 1888, is a 31-store supermarket chain that offers a wide assortment of national brands. The landmark retailer stocks its shelves with specialty foods, including sugar-free, kosher, organic and natural products, making Hawaiian Springs Water a perfect fit at Gristedes.

Circle KO, a New York City beverage distribution company, has also placed Hawaiian Springs Water in 140 additional locations around the city. The list of locations includes Chelsea Market Basket, Grand Central Market, Ernest Klein & Co, and Wild Olive Market.

Hawaiian Springs is sourced from an artesian aquifer at the base of the Mauna Loa volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii, and has been distributed in the U.S. mainland since 2009. The additional New York distribution points highlight the continuing, significant retail growth of Hawaiian Springs.

In September 2011, the company announced its expanded distribution through 105 H-E-B grocery stores in Texas and 13 AJ’s Fine Foods stores in Arizona. Over the summer, Hawaiian Springs Water announced new partnerships with Raley’s, Gelson’s, and Bristol Farms Markets in California and Northern Nevada. In 2011, Hawaiian Springs’ expanded its retail presence on the U.S. mainland by 80 percent. It also distributes its natural artesian water in Hawaii, Canada, Japan, China and Hong Kong.
