The Hawaii Public Charter Schools Network will be hosting a gala honoring award winning charter schools and visionaries in the community.  The organization welcomes interested members of the community and supporters to purchase a ticket or become a table sponsor at its 2nd Annual Fundraising Gala entitled “Honoring Our Past, Shaping Our Future” on Friday, May 3, 2013.  The gala will be at the Hawaii Prince Hotel at 6:00 pm and will feature dinner, entertainment, and lively discussion and presentations on the growing charter school movement in Hawaii.

“With 34 charter school and nearly 10,000 students enrolled in our state, the impressive results reveal that our business-like, innovative, yet flexible approach uniquely caters to the individual needs of our students, thereby adapting them to the advances of our changing 21st century,” says Executive Director, Lynn Finnegan.  Two charter schools that have been awarded $100,000 for the Strive HI award having met annual progress goals under the No Child Left Behind law will be recognized, along with Senator David Ige, Representative Ken Ito, and President and CEO of Hawaii Tourism Authority and former Senator Mike McCartney who will be honored for their role in passing charter school law.

Gala Tickets cost $150.00 each with the options of purchasing three Sponsorship packages.  Tickets can be ordered at (808) 741-5966 or lynn@hawaiicharterschools.com.
